But now, I'm a lot more comfortable with it.Iainhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09189124199119851897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7364527259107112369.post-42096019375603047502012-07-12T16:00:33.819+01:002012-07-12T16:00:33.819+01:00I would carry on as well. I don't think the other story taints yours in any way. (But be ready to be sued someday when you make a billion dollars on your book and the other author finds out you share one plot element and decides to sue you for copyright infringement. Wouldn't that be a nice problem to have?) :)Emily R. It's what YOU bring to the table in your book that makes it worth reading.Peggy Eddlemanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10241451940725996650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7364527259107112369.post-73813322911229125042012-07-10T15:26:42.315+01:002012-07-10T15:26:42.315+01:00Early on in working on my current manuscript I fou...Early on in working on my current manuscript I found myself in a similar situation. The plot point wasn't essential to telling the story and I wasn't very far into the writing, so I changed it. It actually led the story in more interesting directions, so I'm not sad about it. To be in final revisions and find something very central to the story in another book must have been nerve rattling! Still, as you mentioned there is room for many books with a similar theme as long as each author gives it his or her unique spin.Connie B. Dowellhttp://www.bookechoes.comnoreply@blogger.com
