Are distractions the answer?

I thought I'd finally discovered the art of being patient. Unfortunately, it seems that it's only in some areas, like making sure my WiP is as good as I can make it.  It most definitely doesn't go as far as waiting for my Betas to read it and offer their comments.

It is so hard not to keep asking them every five minutes what they are doing, and if it's not reading my book, then WHY aren't they reading it?

Fortunately, we've had the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations going on to distract me.

What do you guys do to prevent yourself from hassling your Betas?

  1. I don't do a good job of not hassling them. My poor betas. I'm knocking on their door every day. :)

    1. That makes me feel a bit better, Emily. I keep telling myself that they are doing me a favour. Not that it helps. lol

    1. Apparantly not, Carrie. Then again, they knew what they were getting into when they allowed me to press gang them into being a beta. lol

  3. Hahaha! "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" totally came to mind. :o)

Um... Hm. What to do. I think distractions are the answer. The more interesting the distraction, the better. That, or just go about harassing. They don't mind, right?

    1. I think you're right Peggy, of course they don't mind. They probably haven't realised yet, that their true purpose in life is to read my work as soon as possible. :o)
