It's just dawned on me that I think that writing is taking over my life completely. I seem to be looking at things in two ways:
1) Can it help/inspire my writing?
2) Is it getting in the way of my writing?
When the answer is the second one, I start looking at ways of stopping it from hindering me.
Is this behaviour a bit too obsessive?
Hahahaha! No. It's normal. It just means that this writing thing is not. going. away.
ReplyDeleteI do that too! So if you're obsessed, so am I :)
ReplyDeleteYou are obbessed, but it can be a good thing. Just make sure if it's getting in the way of you writing, it's important like family, you know the OTHER important things. ;0)
ReplyDeleteThat's called dedication! Good for you!
ReplyDelete...Are you sure you want to ask people like us? *grins*
ReplyDeletePeggy - Does this mean that the things I'm not obsessed with (like work) will go away? ;o)
ReplyDeleteCassie - We should set up a group. something like "Obsessive Writers Anonymous." Oh, hang on, isn't that called NaNoReviMo?
Jenny - Thanks for the reminder. My wife and kids are ALWAYS on the important list. :o)
Abby - Dedication? Or madness? :o)
Carrie - Haha! Did I say I'd listen to the answers? ;o)
You make me laugh. That's totally normal for it to consume you.
ReplyDeleteIt's just part of the natural process in the life of a writer. Normal for us. Eccentric and odd to the outsiders. Embrace it.
ReplyDeleteErin - Looks like I missed my calling in life. I should have been an "Erin smile maker" ;o)
ReplyDeleteKaren - Every one already thinks I'm odd. lol
I know - it is almost impossible to balance writing and everything else!
ReplyDeleteVery true E.D. I think I might give up balancing, and fall headfirst into the writing :o)
